PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL met on Thursday. Minutes of the previous meeting are available at the back of the church.

NATIONAL PILGRIMAGE TO CARFIN takes place on Sunday, 4th September with Mass at 3.00pm. More details are on a poster at the back of the church.

AFTERNOON TEA AT GILLIS – a fund raiser for the Aged and Infirm Clergy Fund on Wednesday, 14th September. Cf poster on the notice board.

PARISH CLUSTER CONSULTATION: The next meeting will take place in St. Machan’s Hall on Thursday, 15th September at 7.30pm.

BEGINNING EXPERIENCE: Next Weekend takes place 30th September – 2nd October at the Conforti Centre, Coatbridge. Cf. Poster on notice board.

RETIREMENT. My official retirement as your Parish Priest takes place on Friday, 2nd September. On Thursday 1st I will be moving to St. Paul’s and Fr. Deighan will be moving here as Parish Priest of Lennoxtown, Milton of Campsie & Torrance. Thank you for all your kindness, support and co-operation over the last 22 years. I’m sure you will give a very warm welcome and be equally supportive of Fr. Deighan as he takes on the very big task of Parish Priest of St. Machan’s along with St. Paul’s and St. Dominic’s.

200 CLUB starts a new session this month. Numbers are available and subscriptions are now due (5). Mary McEwan will be in the Hall after Saturday Vigil and Sunday Masses. .
