Our Mission Statement: As members of the Parish Community of St Machanís, Lennoxtown we belong to the Archdiocese of St Andrewís and Edinburgh in the Deanery of St Mungoís and St. Niniansís.  As a Parish we are called to proclaim the Good News in our community, nurture and develop the faith of our fellow parishioners and provide a welcome to all Godís people.

Receiving the Sacrament:

To arrange Baptisms, Weddings (a minimum of 6 months advance notice is required), Funerals, Sacrament of the Sick or for Holy Communion to be brought to the housebound please contact Fr. Conway.  

First Confession, First Holy Communion and Confirmation:-

These Sacraments are generally arranged in conjunction with St Machanís Primary School.  If you would like further information then please speak with Fr. Conway.

Active Ministries in the Parish


Eucharistic Ministers: Eucharistic Ministers assist Fr. Conway in administering the Blessed Sacrament at Mass and to the housebound.  If you are sick or infirm and wish to have Holy Communion brought to you during Mass then please speak to one of the pass keepers.

Liturgy of the Word: Parishioners read at all Masses.  There is a rota for Saturday Vigil and Sunday Mass readers.  If you would like join this ministry then please speak with Fr. Conway or one of the readers who will be happy to help. 

Childrenís Liturgy: A Childrenís Liturgy Group is held each Sunday during school term time at the 11.30am Mass.  The name of the co-coordinator is listed on the notice board.  All leaders are trained and have completed checks required by Disclosure Scotland and are approved by the Archdiocese.  If you wish your child to take part then please see the notice board at the back of the church or one of the leaders after Sunday morning Mass.  If you would like to become involved in helping with this group then please speak with the co-ordinator or Fr. Conway.

The Choir:      The Choir sing at Sunday Mass monthly and at all major Parish Services.  New members are always welcome.  If you would like to join then please speak to one of the organists.

Pass Keepers: We have Pass Keepers in attendance at Sunday Masses who are happy to help with any enquiry.

Altar Servers:  We have Altar Servers who serve at Sunday Masses.  If your child would like to become an Altar Server and has made his/her First Holy Communion please speak with Fr. Conway.

Hall Committee:  There is a group of parishioners responsible for maintaining the Church Hall.  If you would like to take part in this Committee please speak to Fr. Conway.

Church Cleaning:  A group of parishioners meet every Friday morning to clean the Church.  If you can spare some time your help will be very welcome. 

Parish Hall:  Tea and biscuits are served after Sunday morning Mass.  Everyone is welcome to enjoy this opportunity to meet and chat with fellow Parishioners.

The Parish Hall is situated next to the church and is available for hire for private functions.  To enquire about availability, regulations etc please contact a member of the Hall Committee or the Hall Keeper.

Parish Pastoral Council:  The Council comprises of Fr. Conway and 9 parishioners, 6 elected from the Parish and 3 co-opted by Fr. Conway.  The names of Council members are listed on the notice board at the back of the Church.  Meetings are held regularly throughout the year and are notified in advance in the weekly bulletin if you wish to add anything to the agenda.

If you are interested in serving in any of the Parish Ministries or have ideas about Parish activities please do not hesitate to contact Fr. Conway.  In accordance with legislation some Ministries require volunteers to be Disclosure Scotland checked and Archdiocese approved.

The retreat centre is run by the Congregation of Schoenstatt Sisters of Mary and is situated 1 Ĺ miles from St Machanís in Clachan of Campsie heading towards Strathblane.

The Parish operates the Gift Aid scheme whereby the Parish can claim the value of the tax paid on contributions made by parishioners who pay income tax.  If you contribute to the collections at Mass and are a British tax payer, please consider signing up for this Gift Aid scheme.  It is simple to do and is a valuable source of income to our Parish.  Please speak to Fr.
